Summer Fun!

My sister Suzie & I got a wild hair and decided to take 17 kids to the Washington park. I had my four girls + Matthew and Baylee. She had her 9 children + 2 little boys she was babysitting. WOAH that's alot of kids to keep track of. Being summertime and all the kids are chompin at the bit to do something fun EVERYDAY. So, we slapped some sandwiches together, bought a few watermelons and drinks and we were off. We stayed at the park for 5 hours. At first the kids played on the playground and just dipped their toes in the water. Before long they were in up to their knees...and before we knew it a few of them had fallen in and were drenched so we thought what the heck.... HAVE FUN! It was an all out water fight war...kids against the moms. We showed them who's the boss. Just kidding...I can run faster scared than they can mad...or however that saying goes...hee hee The kids had a blast catching guppies, crawdads, swimmimg and having water fights. Suzie and I played a game of half court basketball with Jay and Kyle. Helllllo.....My body doesn't function how it "usedtacould". My brain says run and my body says yep whatever.Ok, so it's not that bad but it was a definate reality check that I'm not getting any younger. Right as we were thinking about packing up and heading home Jennifer Blansett (Baylee & Matthew's mom) showed up with 17 slushies from sonic! Not the small ones but the big gulps. She is such a sweetie. That was the icing on the cake to a fun summer afternoon.

A day at DONNIES WORLD:)

The other day we were in St George and the kids thought they were starving. So since "Donnies World" is kid friendly and inexpensive (if ya buy the 20 piece chicken nugget combo) we went. Holli and Lindsay always grumble cuz they are WAY PAST the age of loving to go to Mc Donalds...me too BLUUCK!. Anyhew, to our surprise...the Murdock-Durkin Family were there also. It always makes it way more funner (is that a word?) to play with friends. I totally love Inger. She is such a positive, outgoing people person. We had a fun little visit and the kids fed their starvation attack.

Fun In The SUN!

Today my visiting teachers, Lisa & Keturah came over for a visit. Afterwards, I was visiting with Lisa and mentioned the girls wanted to go to the city pool this afternoon. She had the same idea so we met at the pool at 1pm. The kids were so excited to go to the pool with some friends.

Lisa encouraged Alley to jump off the low dive for her first time and she did it! YEAH:) I am such a protective and overlycautious Mom...I guess I need to just chill out and realize they're never gonna learn if I'm always protecting them. Alley is not a super good swimmer but Lisa stood by the edge with a fun-noodle for her to grab onto. Alley is so excited to be one of the big kids now. Lindsay, Josh and Emily were all doing cool tricks off the high dive.I slathered the kids with sunscreen beforehand but um...yeah, I totally forgot myself:p whoops..I am definatley feeling the burn tonight after 3 hours in 100 degree weather. It was a super fun afternoon!

T-ball came and went....

I signed Jenna up for tball this year just like I have done for the other 3 girls. Jenna absolutley loved going to tball! Tiffany and her sister were the coaches. They did a great job and made it lots of fun for the kids. I really admire parents who get involved in their kids lives and go the extra mile. They even threw a water party and made these darling little Tball pictures for the whole class...so THANKS! Jenna wants to take tball every year now..:)
