Best Friends
Holli and Josie have been best friends since preschool. They have so many cute pics together. This one was taken right before they went to a Hurricane Tigers game. Holli altered it a little with photobucket. I thought it was so darn cute that I just had to share it with ya.

A Fairytale Wedding!
My sister in law Tara's daughter "Erica" is getting married on October 8th. I'm not sure if that makes me her great Aunt or second aunt once removed or what...? Just Family! She is such a beautiful person inside and out! It seems like just yesterday that I babysat her. Erica has always been very friendly and personable. She just has such a positive attitude about life. Aaron is a very lucky guy to have found her. I wish them the best of luck in the next chapter of their life called "marriage". Hopefully we will be able to make it up to Salt Lake City for her wedding.I am sure it will be beautiful:)
Congrats Erica and Aaron!!

Happy 24th of July
The girls rode on the 15th ward parade float this morning. Hurricane has a little mini parade every year to celebrate Pioneer Day. It is nothing like the Washington County Fair parade or Peach Days parade but at least the kids get to ride on a float. It was a challenge to get everyone up, dressed and out the door by 8am but we did it. YEAH! With school starting in less than 3 weeks we are trying to get back in the school routine...(Early to bed, early to rise) not the summer routine...(late to bed, late to rise) hee hee Hope y'all have a super fun Pioneer Day:)

Washington Recreation Center!
This afternoon I took the girls to the rec center in Washington for a fun day of swimming. We found a coupon in the Hurricane flyer in the spectrum newspaper for 1 week free for a family up to 6 so we used it. With the outrageous price of LIVING nowdays it just feels good to get something for free. I asked the front desk lady if I could copy the coupon for my sisters and she said no.... BUT, if you mention that you heard the advertisement on Kony country they will also give you a week pass for free for your entire family! SWEET huh? So I guess we will be going to the Rec center quite a bit during the next 6 days. Anything to make the summer more fun:)

Our New Puppy
Today we were in ST George running a few errands and we passed a couple sitting on the grass with a big sign that read (Chihuahua puppies for sale). The kids all unanimously started to squeal,"please can we just stop and look at them Daddy please?" So Kim being the tenderhearted person that he is said OK. Holli has been wanting to get a little friend for Chewy for a long time so this was just perfect. The puppies are 1/2 chihuahua and 1/2 Pomeranian. They were selling the little girl dogs for $250.00 and the boys for $200.00. This price was by far the best we have seen for this cute of a mix...SO, after alot of PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE Kim agreed as long as the girls pay for it themselves. They all agreed and were able to come up with the scheckles out of their savings accounts. Next we just had to decide which one was the cutest. My favorite was the runt...a little girl dog. The people selling the dogs would not budge on the price so the girls picked the next cutest one a boy...the fattest one of them all. They all agreed on the name Rocky with his nickname being Rocko. After a quick stop at Petco we headed home with our newest little family member. Alley made the comment..."This is almost as fun as having a new little brother." Kim chuckled under his breath and mumbled, "and alot cheaper too." Chewy seems to get along with Rocko just fine other than Rocko thinks Chewy is his Momma and trys to nurse Chewy...hummmm not a good situation..hee hee The kids are so thrilled with it...Now comes the fun part...potty training:)

No more weeds PLEASE!
Before
During
After
A few months ago we FINALLY had our backyard landscaped. We have lived in our home for 3 years now and have just picked away at our yard paying as we went. It feels SO great to have lawn in the backyard for the kids to play on and a HUGE sandbox. Eventually we plan on buying a jungle gym with swings and slides etc...We are hoping next years tax return will cover that. Any hew...I planted a little garden as well but the weeds have taken over...Once we get it weeded and lookin' perty I will take some pics to blog about. One more thought....Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep cats out of the sandbox? The kids have had a blast playing in the sand for days on end but we have noticed a few surprises now and then...nasty! I have heard there is an herb you can sprinkle in the dirt that keeps them away but I'm not sure which one...any suggestions?

Kim's new BABY!
Kim finally fulfilled one of his childhood fantasies! For as long as I can remember Kim has lusted after every bullet bike he has set eyes on. Me, being the overly cautious protective wifey that I am, have stressed about the day he would own one. Well... Yesterday, after many sleepless nights of stressing about whether too or whether not too he decided "I deserve it!" and purchased himself a bullet bike. He says he will be smart while riding it too and from work but after that one dirt bike ride I took with him 15 years ago i don't know.... I do remember my life flashing before my eyes a few times. He is a definite adrenalin junkie and crazy stunt man on bikes...So I can only hope and pray that he won't get hurt on his new found love. He has smiled more in the past 24 hours than I have seen in a long time....So this is good:) I am glad to see him Happy. I guess you only live once...See here I am trying to talk myself into accepting it. I have just heard way too many horror stories I suppose about bullet bikes and body bags. He did get a wicked good deal on it from a kid in St George who needed to sell it because he was going on a mission. So the moral of this ramble is if you see a streak of white lightning pass you on the freeway it's probably just my wild and crazy hubby..honk at him too slow down k? jokes:)
Kraftie Kapcsos Kreations...
How is that for a tongue twister? About a month ago I was trying to think up something fun and inexpensive that the girls could do during the LONG and boring job filled summer days...just kidding...Holli said ,"Mom I need some fun in my life...something besides boring old jobs...like scrap booking or sewing or..." So it started with the girls (Holli & Lindsay) sewing me some bibs. Once they sewed up a few I had a brainstorm. Maybe they could sell their bibs and make some money. Hurricane peach days is coming up the last week in August so we decided it would be a fun thing for the girls to have a craft booth at Peach Days and earn a little extra spending money. Everyday they think of another idea and another idea....they have twelve that they are working on now. They are all inexpensive and fun...Who knows maybe they wont make TONS of money like they are hoping but at least it will keep them entertained and busy during these last few weeks of summer. So far we have about 40 bibs and maybe 100 hair bows. I hope if nothing else the girls will learn some sewing skills and develop a few talents. It is fun to watch the delight in their eyes when they complete a craft. We are still trying to think of a unique name to name our booth...Kraftie Kapcsos Kreations is a little to much KKK...Any Ideas?
First Time footsal
Tiff asked me a few days ago if I wanted to play footsal on the 15th ward womens league. I was hesitant to say the least because for one I have never ever played footsal..(dont know if I am even spelling it right..hee hee) But it was a ton of fun! It is definatley a good work out and makes ya realize how old you're getting.Oh well.... We had a practice on Tuesday and we played the 3 Moms against 6 teenagers and we stomped them..YEAH the old ladies won:)WAHOOOOOO. SOOO, my confidence was running high until I walked in the building tonight and took one look at the opposing team...We were pretty much toast! Poor Tiffany got nailed in the head not once but twice. Our team consisted of Tiffany, Myself, Stephanie Davis, Inger Durkin, the Rasmussen Mom (can't remember her name) and somebody I don't know....just in case you wanted to know:)We got spanked to say the least but all in all it was good times and makes me want to get in shape and be more athletic. When I was in highschool I played in alot of sports and totally loved it. Anyhew..I hope I can play with the womens league again.
(Holli and I had a girls afternoon out and went to the salon for new hair dooos. I am still getting used to my hair being a little shorter but I do love the color change. Change is good:)

Canada 2008
We're back! Our summer vacation was a hoot this year. A week just isn't long enough...On July 3rd we rented a mini van and after 2 months of hearing "how many more days until we go to Canada?" the day finally arrived:) The first day was mostly driving with lots of goodie stops along the way. We stayed in a motel in Dillon Montana the first night. We arrived in Canada around 3pm the next day. Kim's parents were very excited to see us and the grandkids. We spent 4 days with them. We took them with us into Lethbridge, Alberta 2 of the days, which is about an hour drive from their farm. They are getting older so it's hard for them to be drug around all day shopping through malls, etc...
One of the days we went to KFC and bought some chicken and fries with gravy and went to a park. That was a ton of fun for the kids feeding the seaguls and fish in the lake. Canada is just beautiful and the people there are so friendly and laid back...We were planning on staying with Kim's folks for a week but after a few days you just run out of things to talk about. The kids had fun taking Grandpa's tractor for a spin, his dog Buck for walks every day, got paid 10 cents for every moth they caught..hee hee, watched the calgary stampede each night on TV with Grandpa & Grandma, listened to lots of Grandpa's stories of back in the day, macked out on Grandma's goodie drawer, etc... I am really thankful that we were able to take the kids to see their Grandparents. On Tuesday morning we headed back with the idea that we would spend a few days in SLC going school shopping, Lagoon and visiting my brother Carl and Kim's sister Tara. The motel we stayed in had a pool and the kids had a blast going swimming. I did a cannon ball off the edge and HELLO...my body just aint what it used to be. I think I twisted my ankle cuz sheeesh it hurt the next day. It was so nice to just spend time with the kids and not worry about dishes, laundry, bills, etc! Lagoon was alot of fun...This is the first time we have gone to a theme park where we were all big enough to ride all the rides...no babies in diapers, pregnant, strollers...etc. Jenna was 1 inch too short to ride the big roller coasters like Wicked, and the collosus but they let her go anyways. Our girls have no fear just like their Daddy...I was the biggest chicken..I really had to work with myself to go on the ride Wicked....they named it appropratley. It was super fun! Thursday we had breakfast with Kim's sister Tara and her daughter Angela at SILS in Layton. That is a great place to eat breakfast...yummm yum. We havn't seen or heard from Tara in 5 years so it was fun to visit with her. The girls had all saved money to go school shopping so Thursday we shopped 'til we dropped literally! Kim was so patient...It's a good thing he likes to shop. We found lots of great deals and,.... for the first time ever (this soon), I think we are all set for school:) YEAH! Around 9:30pm we were finally done shopping at the South Town Mall but we were all so tired we couldn't remember where in the world we parked. It literally took us 45 minutes to find our van. Kim said "are we really that blonde?" hee hee That night we stayed with my brother in Saratoga Springs. the next morning Kim said," so do you girls want to go shopping some more?" Jenna piped up and said NO we will just lose our car again. We had to chuckle. We were all tuckered out from a long week of on the go so we headed home. All in all we made some great memories...I can't wait until next years summer vacation:)

Vacation Time YEA!
Just a little note to let ya'all know that our family is leaving on vacation tomorrow morning....oh whoops I mean today. Sheesh I didn't realize how late it is. We planned a trip up north to Canada for this years summer getaway. Kim's parents and some of his brothers live in Alberta and since we havn't been to Canada as a family since 2001 we figured it's time:) I can't wait to see his parents! They are so very kind and have always treated me like one of their own. I have been so busy the past few years that our letters and phone calls have been few and far between so hopefully we can catch up on the past 8 years. I am looking forward to the cooler canadian weather, chocolate bars, Ketchup chips, slurpies and my mother in laws yummy home cookin'.uggghhh so much for my weight watchers diet:) Anyhew....hopefully in 10 days when we are back home I will have some fun memories and interesting things to blog about...until then "Austa La Vista Baby!" ...sorry, I'm a dork..heehee
